As if the world needs yet one more blog…

So, here I am, enriching the world with another blog you can’t live without. I know you’ve all been waiting with bated breaths on my words of wisdom, that the internet has been standing still, hushed and quiet, to see what I have to say.

I’m usually expending my energy (happily, I should add) on a number of user groups here and there. Often, the threads I participate in do lead to interesting conclusions which I actually would want to summarize, clean up, change the history of a bit to suit my ego and finally save someplace where it can be enjoyed by posterity.

Who am I? Do you really want to know?

I did some math and chemistry at the university of Stockholm, then medicine in Belgium (Ghent). Trained in general, vascular and thoracic surgery there, too. Then I was a GP for 12 years, while I also did two years of electronic engineering studies and started my own one-man computer software company, too. Yes, I was busy.

Since 1995 I’ve done nothing but software development and management. I got the CISSP certification in 2004 and the CSDP (IEEE/CS) certification in 2005. And now I live in Sweden, a bit north of Stockholm.

That’s it in a nutshell. If you want to know more specifics, please ask.

Ah, by the way, the name of the blog (urSecta) is born out of desperation. What can you name it? Oscar? And if you pronounce “urSecta” it sound just like “ursäkta”, which (in Swedish) means “excuse me”. As good a name as any, since I’m adding about the 5 billionths web blog to a world that really doesn’t need more of these.

Another point is that if I said something that upset you, I already apologized.

You have my curiousity!
Was this inspired by my Turing comment?

No, it was inspired by my relentless search for a way of expressing myself so that the world would beat a path to my URL. This looks better than Mambo for my purposes.
